Manual of EC Membership Registration and Sign-in System

EC membership registration and sign-in system (hereafter referred to as 揝ystem? was launched on Jan.22, 2008. With the principle of easy registration steps, user-friendly page and valuable information sources, it aims to provide high-quality service to members from home and abroad. The log-in system at this stage is mostly to enhance the interaction between EC and the users, to lay a firm groundwork for membership classification and diversified service in the next stage.

Here is a brief introduction on the registration and sign-in system:

1. Registration and sing-in section on the Homepage (as shown in picture 1)

My EC makes it much easier and faster for the users to register and sign-in via the same system page. The former table is for members to log in and the latter tags are for users to register as EC members. (as shown in picture 2)

Picture 2 is the System page for registration and sign-in. We have two kinds of memberships. One is regular membership, which mainly targets on domestic enterprises / users. Regular members can enjoy Chinese BBS service. The other one is verified membership which enables registered members to have their own online shops on the EC website to release information of their companies and products.

EC verifies its members by the 揤erification Code?at the log-in area for security check. Meanwhile, EC can also retrieve users?IDs and passwords through e-mail addresses submitted in the registration process. Please see the attached picture 3:

3. Registration page for Regular Membership

With the suggestive and helpful tips listed on the right, it will only take the user a couple of minutes to complete the membership registration. On the other hand, we have implemented the 揈C Terms Use Agreement?and 揈C Privacy of Policy?to protect the interests of the EC website. In the process of registration, you will be linked directly to the registration page for verified members by clicking on 揢pdate? Please see the attached picture 4:

After the registration application is submitted successfully, EC will send you a confirmation letter to the registered e-mail address to guarantee the authenticity of the registration info. The registered e-mail is also the most convenient and helpful way for the users to stay in touch with EC and enjoy services provided by EC. The confirmation letter is shown as the attached picture 5. (In order to prevent malicious online crime and fraud, please recognize the official e-mail address of EC website as chiefeditor@ec.com.cn, and the subject of the confirmation letter as Your EC Registration Confirmation)

Click on the 揅onfirmation?tag in the middle of the letter, you will be linked to another page listing with various services you will enjoy as an EC member, which indicates that you have completed the membership registration process, and that you are already an EC member. Information about your account, password, security question and registered email address will no longer be sent to you; therefore, we suggest that you memorize all your private information submitted in the registration process. 4. Verified Membership Registration

You may go to the Sign-in page (as shown in picture 2) to apply for a verified membership, and you may also upgrade your regular membership to a verified membership (as shown in picture 4). Verified membership registration requests more detailed information of the potential member and his /her enterprise. The registration process of verified membership is just the same as that of the regular membership. After a successful registration, the EC service group will start checking the authenticity of the registered members.
