More
than 40 years of catering to the world's trading nations and
professions and greeting the representatives of its nation's
economic and cultural interests has given the management of
the Beijing Exhibition Center the experience required to make
each and every exhibition, conference and trade show successful,
memorable and profitable.
The Beijing Exhibition Centre was built in 1954. It is a large
and comprehensive exhibition hall in Beijing, for which Chairman
Mao Zedong gave his own autograph, and Premier Zhou Enlai
was in charge of cutting the ribbon. The Hall is situated
at the busy commercial area of Xizhimen, Beijing, very advantageous
in geographical position and rather convenient in traffic.
including the Xizhimen passenger station to the north. There
are 1,500 meters of rail siding, which allows the transport
directly on site of pieces of almost any size and weight.
If needed, the rail area can provide some 2,ooo square meters
of secure exhibition or storage space. The total Hall covers
200 thousand square meter, with more than 10 operation departments
such as Exhibition Company, Moscow Restaurant, theatre, joint-venture
guest house, Xinghu Hotel, advertising agency, pasty mill,
cold drink factory, and labor service company etc. It is a
comprehensive and multifunctional service enterprise to integrate
exhibition, accommodation, dining/drink, amusement, advertising,
and food processing into one.
For more than 40 years, the Beijing Exhibition Centre has
received more than thousand Chinese and foreign large exhibitions,
with visiting people up to hundred million person-time. It
has played an active role in promoting friendship between
the peoples of all countries, bringing about international
and domestic scientific and technical exchanges and economic
and trade cooperations, strengthening Beijing's place in political
and cultural centers and so on.
Among BEC's notable events are, since 1993, the annually International
Military Logistics Equipment Exhibition, the 1996 to 1999
China International Financial Technical Exhibitions, and the
1997 Italy Marco Polo Fashion Expo. In 1997, it was also chosen
