China and European businesses in China share aligned interests, said Jacques de Boisséson, president of European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), at a press conference today.
The chamber today released the "European Business in China Position Paper 2010/2011," suggesting that China should open its markets wider and assure a level playfield.
European enterprises can contribute to China's macro policy objectives, such as establishing an innovative society and reaching a more balanced growth model, Boisséson said, citing facts that support the assertion that the European Union is regarded the world's most innovative area and European companies wish to invest in research and development in China.
This year's position paper noted China has made significant progress in the field of market access. China has streamlined compulsory testing and certification for China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) and opened up the country's services sectors.
It also suggested that China should improve predictability and consistency in the implementation of rules and regulations and further increase policy consultation with relevant stakeholders.
