Supply, demand and management issues contribute a lot to the rapidly increasing housing prices. Chinese government would take various measures to curb rocketing housing prices, Jiang Weixin, minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, said yesterday.
A comprehensive increase in housing supply is the top issue. The measure should be implemented in four aspects. Specifically speaking, China should accelerate the construction of ordinary commercial housing, affordable housing, price-limited housing and public rental housing to increase supply.
Under current circumstance, China should adopt some economic methods to restrict housing speculation, said Jiang.
In addition, Jiang vowed tightened regulation on land supply and trading of completed houses.
Jiang disclosed that the central government had urged local governments to promote low-income housing construction and control rapid-growing house prices.
In addition, the total capital supply including new banking credits in budget this year would be less than that in 2009, which might have an impact on the housing demand to some extent.
