Dubbed as a new step in its localization, international fast food giant KFC has begun selling shaobing, a traditional Chinese snack, during the breakfast period as of Monday.
Although tasting slightly different due to its stuffing, the traditional breakfast snack looks exactly the same, round and dotted with sesame seeds. The restaurant offers two flavors, stuffed with either smoked chicken or bacon plus fried eggs.
KFC has named its latest offering 'Fa Feng Shaobing', sounding more like crazy Shaobing in Chinese, which has led netizens to question whether the restaurant chain is crazy or not after they set the price of Shaobing at 10 yuan each, when ordinary Chinese shaobing is priced at just one yuan or less.
