MOFCOM Held An Information Briefing on the Rescue and Relief Work and Post-quake Reconstruction

MOFCOM's Department of International and Economic Affairs organized and held an information briefing on the rescue and relief work and post-quake reconstruction in the quake-affected areas of Sichuan on May 29.

The meeting aimed to brief the representatives of the donating countries and international organizations on the preliminary plan of the post-quake reconstruction and provide a proposal list on the essential needs of subsequent aid for their consideration.

Senior representatives from five organizations of the United Nations in China including the office of Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System's Operational Activities for Development in China and the Representative Office of UNICEF, and 14 embassies in China including the EU, UK, Japan, Australia, etc, as well as bilateral aid organizations were present at the meeting and extended their willingness to cooperate with the Chinese government on the post-quake reconstruction.
