Banking Donation Amounted to RMB800m

According to the incomplete statistics of China Banking Regulatory Commission, as of May 20, the corporations of banking financial institutions and their staff had accumulatively contributed RMB800m to Wenchuan earthquake disaster area.

At present, various forms of donation are still in progress. Among them, the donation of China Construction Bank and its staff to the disaster area amounted to RMB76.33m and that of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China at home and abroad accumulatively amounted to RMB98.4034m.

At the same time, the banking financial institutions have made the preparatory work of financial services for reconstruction after disaster. As of May 19, the banking financial institutions had extended reconstruction loans in a total of RMB3.589b.

China Development Bank added RMB50m relief loans. Sichuan rural credit union system did a good job in extending loans of post-disaster reconstruction, which have already been RMB240m.
