The China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement and its enabling legislation were sent back to the Parliament from select committee on Monday, with support from all political parties except the Greens.
The Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade committee said the deal is an historic opportunity for New Zealand and should be put into effect as soon as possible, Radio New Zealand reported on Monday.
The agreement was signed between the two countries in April in Beijing and the New Zealand parliament passed the first reading of it on May 16 before sending it to the select committee.
