Russian Kaifaqu state economic committee website released that Kaifaqu foreign trade volume in the first quarter of 2008 reached USD2.342b, 7 times year-on-year. Its five largest trade partners include Japan, South Korea, US, UK and Germany, while China ranks sixth.

Secretary of Kaifaqu Customs News receiving the interview of Kaifaqu¡ªQiandao Islands News Agency revealed that during 1-3 of 2008, Kaifaqu foreign trade amount stood at USD2.342b, among which import was USD203m (accounting for 9% of foreign trade volume), up by 9% year-on-year, while export reached USD2.139b (91%), up by 13 times year-on-year.

Imported goods totaled 3.028m tons. Among them, 97% were land bridge energy development project products distributed according to product distribution agreement.

Kaifaqu state established foreign trade ties with 63 countries and regions across the world. In Q, 2008, its five largest trade partners were as follows: Japan (USD1.136b), South Korea (USD1.034b), US (USD58m), UK (USD30m) and Germany (USD12m). China ranked sixth with trade volume of Kaifaqu to China USD11m.
