Sichuan province will contend strongly to make the living and production conditions of the masses reach or exceed the pre-quake level and rebuild new homes of living and working in peace and contentment, ecological civilization as well as safety and harmony within about three years.

Presently, the whole province has organized more than 800 experts to enter disaster areas to conduct groundwork such as analysis of geographic condition and site selection of restoration, on which ground the ¡°1+9¡± rebuilding program was launched, which includes the general plan of post-quake rebuilding as well as special-purposed planning involving urban system, rural construction, residential construction of city and countryside, infrastructure construction, construction of public service facilities, allocation of productive force and industrial adjustment, service marketing system, disaster prevention and reduction and environmental restoration as well as land utilization.

These reconstruction programs are expected to be finished prior to July 10 and total investment of the whole provincial post-quake reconstruction is estimated to exceed RMB 1t.
