The 13th APEC Ministerial Meeting ratified to establish e-Commerce Business Alliance. The Alliance define the private sector is the principal part to promote e-Commerce, which shall make much more significant contribution to push forward e-Commerce development.

Article 46 of the Ministerial Joint Declaration: In light of the different contributions made by public and business sectors to promote e-Commerce, and regarding the necessity to enhance the cooperation between public and business sectors in this field, ministers from member economies ratified the propose to establish the APEC e-Commerce Business Alliance. Ministers also welcome the promotion that economic and technological cooperation in e-Commerce should be enhanced, which, according to their views, would be helpful for reducing gaps between member economies in the application of e-Commerce.

By means of initiating symposiums, training meetings and Enterprises Joint conferences, and leading renowned enterprises to attend APEC meetings, the APEC e-Commerce Business Alliance will give full play to its role as a bridge linking government and private sectors, promoting the government to optimize the climate for developing e-Commerce, coordinating the traditional enterprises to promote reforms within producing process, establishing the platform for cooperation and common development of enterprises, and promoting the overall development of China e-Commerce so as to make the APEC e-Commerce Business Alliance as a typical working model in which the government and enterprises spare no effort to conduct cooperation in developing e-Commerce.

In August 2004, the Enterprises Joint Conference of APEC E-Commerce Business Alliance will welcome your participation. Your valuable views on the paperless trading will be echoed within APEC member economies.
